Kerim Kılıçarslan is a Turkish artist.
Born in 1963 in Istanbul, Turkey, Kerim Kılıçarslan received his MFA and PhD at the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University, where he now works as Associate Professor.
Besides his solo artistic productions, Kılıçarslan also cooperated with a number of artists on different projects. His creations are three dimensional, site-specific works with different media. His works concern the multi-layered quality of existential problems faced by people today, commenting particularly on the topics of displacement and the loss of cultural areas. He typically employs fire and light as symbols of life and renewal. He lives and works in Istanbul, Turkey. Kiliçarslan is presently an Assistant Professor at Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts.
