Gülveli Kaya is a Turkish artist.
Born in Yozgat, Turkey in 1977, Kaya has graduated from Ankara Fine Arts Lycee Deparment of Painting and in 1999 from Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty Department of Painting. In 2000 he began his graduate studies in Mimar Sinan University, The Institute of Social Sciences, majoring in painting. In the same year, he began to work as a Research Assistant in the Fine Arts Faculty of Yeditepe University. In 2001 he completed the summer academy of Nescott Collage in London. Gülveli Kaya made some invesitigations in various musieums and art galleries in England, France, Italy and Germany. In 2006, he finalized the Proficiency in Art Programme in the Deparment of Painting in Mimar Sinan University and he has appointed as an assistant professor at department of plastic arts at Yeditepe University in 2015 and in 2016 he was made a Dean.
Gülveli Kaya has opened fourteen solo exhibitions and his works have been displayed in a large number of mixed exhibitions up to now. Furthermore, he got the second prize in the poster competition called “Equality for Women: The Most Important Step in the Solution of the Problems of Population” held by the Ankara agent of United Nations Population Fund in 1995, in 1996, Gülveli Kaya won a mansion in the painting competition called “The Turkish War of Independence and Our Republic” which was held by The Foundation of Atatürk’s Mausoleum, in 1997, Gülveli Kaya won the second prize in the painting contest called “ Water and Earth in GAP” which was held by DSİ-TRT GAP TV in coopeation, in 2000 he won the award of “The Young Artist of the Year” in TÜYAP Young Artists Painting Competition, in 2001 he won the second prize in TEKEL Painting Contest and in 2003, Gülveli Kaya won the third prize in Talens Painting Contest. He participated wıth Turkısh and Moldovan paınters in a work-shop in Chinisau on dates 21st to 28 th August 2004 for which the theme was “togetherness”.Finally, he participated in a work-shop with American and Turkısh artist in Pensilvania and New-York at USA.
