Jinoos Misaghi has had more than 20 group and solo exhibitions. She currently works and lives in Turkey. For Misagahi, painting is making a picture; a composition that consists of images found or photographed that are separated from their original context, and placed together in the image text. In this reuse, pieces of familiar images are emptied of their meaning, and in her pictorial text, they recount a new narrative and pose a new question. Imagination, meanwhile, plays a significant role in the process of Misagahi’s work, because she always questions the certainty of what is called reality, explaining that it is the re-creation of reality in the imagination that creates the final image, Whether in the viewer’s mind, or in the work of art. In her recent works, she asks about the concept of home and relocation. It is as if these images (paintings) are a question of the situation of a human being who experiences an intermediate state, and asks themselves, what is “of [their] house or not?” In the meantime, contemplation of the concept of the house, like language, involves wider concepts such as identity, history, geography, etc. In the first work of the new collection that continues, the wandering community of objects and people, new questions under the shadow of the general concept of the house are under study. Questions such as whether there is a destination (promised land) or the destination is always in the middle of the road?
