Amnesia Series (2016-2018)

Amnesia is the name of my project which deals with Time, danger and sorrow. When we feel danger, or we feel so sad or lonely of losing some-one or some-thing, we try to hide. Sometimes we take refuge in a distant place to let Time recover our wounds. I name this process “The Care”. It is not expected some-thing to be forgotten in this process, but, the injured spirit would be hidden under Time layers in order to be safe and get cured. However, hiding could lead to eliminate us and our wishes by external and unwanted factors. Although Hiding may soothe the pain, sorrow and fear, it may also lead to forget reality, need and more loneliness. I name this process “Amnesia”.

Time is the essence of Amnesia project (the first project), both in terms of conceptualization, development and presentation of these artworks. It is an element that can signify passage of time; it is able to nurture, kill, reveal or conceal, or eliminate. The elements that appear to be the primary subjects of this set vanish through time. Any growing thing embodies some concept of time. It becomes stronger and sturdier as it roots. A tuber that grows roots cannot be rooted out, trimmed, or de- stemmed as it will grow again this time in another part of the plant.
