Serdar Kaynak is a Turkish artist, born in Corum, Turkey, in 1977. Kaynak has opened 6 personal exhibitions in Turkey and has participated in several exhibitions, international art Fairs and international symposiums. Additionally, he has been awarded 3 prizes for his sculptures as well as several artworks in public spaces, museums, and in private collections. Kaynak now works in his studio in Istanbul.
Kaynak’s productions touch on the elements of duality, quandary, and balance in duality. Most of his work and the practices through which they are created, matter remains true to its nature, transforming from the imaginary into objective truths with ease and without force. Structuring form in this approach, Kaynak tries to create a balance of dualism and contrast in nature and the universe as a complementary element.
Kaynak believes duality to be in all areas of life. He formally questions the dilemma of balance in terms of contrast. Shaping contrast between form and content in terms of the meanings contained in his work internally through an emotional approach, Kaynak creates contradiction in the context of his work. Characterising his productions are a strong understanding of form. The artist believe that art is the experiment of change and transformation affected by the continuity of life, and constitute clues to both his inner world and his perspective on life.
The integrity of his subjects can be understood as a movement and commitment that brings the flow of people into the agenda and dilemma of separation. Emphasising the importance and accuracy of the development always found on the ground, Kaynak believes he should always approach art with an experimental mindset open to limitlessness in art creation, conducting new searches and practices that will add immanence to his work. According to the artist, one’s artistic growth should be a gradual and sensibly paced endeavour to ensure a complete development of art as a language and expression.
