Tehran based artist, Amir Mohamadzadeh, was born in 1986, educated in music, and actively engaged in the art of drawing. Mohamadzadeh began his professional career as a drawing artist by collaborating with Drawing House in 2007.
Mohamadzadeh’s artworks are pencil drawing on the paper and cardboard. His objective is to expand the drawing medium and evoke a sense of depth and space into the two-dimensional surface. He gives a surreal and, at times, expressionist effects to his drawings by manipulating the figures and use of dark and light shadows. His living experience in the green lands of North of Iran caused him a playful curiosity into plants that one can observe in his works. Looking at his works, we experience the expansion of multi-dimensional worlds moving forward in parallel as the socio-political concerns of the artist start crawling into it inch by inch. His deep interest in both music and drawing made him study the integration of these two artistic mediums which led to staged performances in Tehran’s prominent halls. Moreover, he designed some installations and audio arts and has hold several drawing workshops at different galleries and museums in Tehran. Amir Mohamadzadeh scored for a number of movies and documentaries and won the first prize in the 13th International Student Theatre Festival for the best music.
