A sound is calling me
I’m scolded and relentless.

Unfinished lines …
Being human means living along lines full of contradictions; lines that do not end neatly and sweep man seamlessly to sense and fullness. Subjectivity, geography, ethnicity, class, religion, and ideology are bounded lines that we live with in the intellectual and real world of modern life, forming a perpetual conflict of social legacies, either crystalized or sterilized by the modern world. In addition, the lines interpret the thoughts of the artist through the expression of the image: the artist is forced to confront himself and the community around him; is absolutely confronted by these lines.

The goal of the series “unfinished lines” was to draw out this confrontation through the artist’s encounter with him or herself; creating a self-portrait that is sometimes Iranian and sometimes transgressing into other lines. Facing their contradictions, their desires, and ideas, confronting the lines of identity which are created in the mind. Lines that never end, never harmonize, and never let us look away.
