Education
According to the self-presentation theory, the claim that the individual has an identity through self-presentation is an essential element of social life. It can be defined as the behavioral features that the individual designed to influence the impressions that he / she will make on others. The figures in Horasan’s series called “Rabbit Run, Hold the Hound” try to define their bodies and create a character for themselves in a large space.
While the figures in the void do this with all their pain, anger, and funny states, they are actually exactly in life, because they play their role in acquiring an identity and a kind of stage, even if they are not aware that they do not exist. In a way, it looks like the mood of the actor, who faces the viewer who is aware that they are acting. On the other hand, they communicate in a real way, but it is not known how this communication was established. Here he invites his audience to solve this through the way Horasan suggested and asks: We do not know what will appear and when, as in real life, we just try to predict and predict. Why not do this now through this exhibition?
The paintings in the exhibition are not the pictures of the present moment, so in order to understand the figures on the surface and the framing, it is necessary to look at the previous or next picture and create a track. It is necessary to remember that these pictures are part of the previous series, based on these drawings and the proposition “The piece is equal to the whole”. Now, they point to a completely different whole, and they now have their colors and colors. Understanding the words of the figures in speech bubbles is impossible at first glance. They say something, but these will sound like meaningless strings to the audience. However, they have meanings, but the answers to the questions of what they say and whether they talk to someone or themselves are expected from the audience. “Run, Run, Hold the Hound”, which contains a breakdown of the last three years of Horasan, like a diary, at Ferda Art Platform between 4 December 2019 – 2 January 2020.
