My creatures are taken out from where they belong and are imprisoned in an empty space, bounded by the limiting lines; which refers to the situation of the human being in society and its norms, which we made in order to feel safe and secure. I worked with social norms and limitations in this series of works, referring to a traditional and religious country like Iran; an ancient country with an interesting history and ups and downs. But what matters here is the emotional experience they are feeling inside; which I tried to show with mixing the colours with different chemicals such
as Chloroform, etc. and the reaction between them. The whole atmosphere is empty and has nothing but a flat surface painted in white; so there is still hope for a new beginning. I’ve inspired from ancient Iranian paintings and its odd creatures such as the ones, can be seen in paintings of Mohammad Siah- Qalam(15th century). The other inspiration was from the book of 1984 of George Orwell and the fragmented atmosphere of it. The works are on different materials, the technique is mixed media on canvas, cardboard and Plexi glass.
